Indian hair has a smaller hair denier (thickness) than Chinese hair. This means that the Indian hair has a smaller hair shaft.
Chinese hair is straight whereas Indian hair has a slight, natural body-wave. Indian hair, when dried with a diffuser, attached to a blow dryer, can have an equivalent of a purple rod curl (½î to ¾î in Diameter).
What’s The Difference?
The unique aspect hair is the process the hair must go through before it is approved for final product production. The cost of the hair is not in the hair itself, it’s in all the other steps. As you know hair is affected health. If the person who donated the hair is ill or has malnutrition the hair will be weak and/or brittle. One of the constant challenges is that make sure that the hair is healthy and nourished. Another important aspect is that it is virgin hair- hair that has not been permed or colored by the donor.
Collecting The Hair- There needs to be a system in the way the hair is collected. A systematic way of collecting and transporting it to a warehouse and/or buyer is essential. Hair is collected by purchasing from known people who traditionally have donated high quality hair. Even by doing this, hair still comes in that is in different qualities and health. It is then graded.
Grading The Hair- The hair that comes from these known sources is graded. What is usable or what is not usable. The hair must be weighed out since it is sold by weight and length. This is accomplished with a “hackling” system.
A hackle is a device that has spikes and resembles a large hairbrush. The hair must then be hackled several times to organize it into its different lengths and quality. The hackle sorts the hair by the way it is picked up. The lower quality hair collects into one place on the machine while the higher quality hair is sorted in a different place. The weight and density of the hair determine its location on the machine. Healthier hair tends to be denser and thicker than lower quality hair.
Storage Of The Hair- The hair must then be stored. The hair may not be stored where it is too damp or too dry. The hair may not be stored in plastic because the hair must “breathe” or circulate. Without this breathing, the hair would deteriorate from bacteria and humidity.
Distribution Of The Hair- After all the above steps and the costs involved in them, the hair must be dispersed. At the distributor, the hair is graded packaged in breathable paper and sold. The poorer qualities of hair are sold to those that specialize in cheaper hairpieces. You will find these types of hairpieces have dyes already added to them, polyester filler that is mixed in with the weaker hair to give the hairpiece fullness and body. These are sold as 100% Human Hairpieces. Legally 100% Human Hair Hairpieces need only one strand of human hair to make that claim. They may contain animal hair in them, or have Polyester filler. They are telling the truth in a round about way. You need Hair is 100% Human Hair with no Fillers, no animal hair or Dyes What So Ever. Most hairseller do offer Yak hair, but list it as Yak hair. Yak hair has a great benefit over synthetic. It can be used to give fullness; it is pure white and can be dyed and permed.
